Seedling #2

Here is number 2... As you can see, I was wrong and it is pink! Yeah! Pretty dern ugly, but at least it is pink. I do think it has potential tho.

This one was just planted a few weeks ago, and is already blooming. It's Harmonious Simplicity

This is one of those poor Hostas. This sucker got nailed by frost, recovered, and now was nailed by the hail. I feel so bad for it!

This Hydrangea was one of the very first things I planted here. Look at all those flower clusters! Not to mention hail damage. :( Ah well, it'll live.

These little guys I bought just to piss my neighbor off. He hates Gnomes, so I HAD to get some. Aren't you glad you don't live next to me? :) If only I could find the 8 foot models...

My First Daylily Seedling!

Well here it is! I am so thrilled! My first Daylily, hybridized by me, to bloom! It's pink, it's a bitone, and it's beautiful! Yeah!!! I just love it! Tomorrow, I should have another one bloom. I don't think it will be pink tho, it's looking white or yellow...

Well, we had some very scary weather yesterday. Hail! I think this was only the second time in my 20 years down here, that I've seen hail. I was so worried all the buds off my Daylilies would be knocked off. But the only real damage was to the Hydrangea's. Their leaves got a real beating. A few other plants with larger leaves, took a few hits too. But for the most part, everything was okay.

I haven't been doing a whole lot in the garden. Been busy doing other stuff. But this week I need to get down to business, and get things ready for John, and the things we'll be doing. I can't wait!

Well, I already have more planting to do. Cyn, the girls and I went Strawberry picking last weekend, and the farm also had plants to sell. Of course, I couldn't resist, so I have a few more waiting to go in the ground, once I decide where I am going to smoosh them in. Unfortunately tho, the Strawberries sucked. Way to watery, from a few storms we had back to back.

When I spoke of frost a few posts back, I didn't realize until a few days ago, a few plants did get hit. Very odd tho, I have two hydrangea's, about 8 feet apart, one looks awesome, and the other got hit by frost. :( Looks horrible. But, I know from last year, it'll come back and be fine. My Brugsmansia also got hit, but I am wondering if it will recover at all. Just seems to be sitting there, so I guess time will tell.

The other day, I counted 27 scapes on my Daylily seedlings. I am very proud, and excited to see what kinds of flowers I'll get. Should only be a week or two more before they bloom. I am just hoping they bloom before John and I have to move them. The bed they are in, has to be moved to make room for the shed. So the race is on.
