Done planting... (I think)

Yesterday I spent all day planting. So unless I buy more, which is highly possible, I am done. I also cleaned out the pond, and got it working again. Kk went "fishing" in the ditch, and we now have 8-10 large bullfrog tadpole babies living in there. Plus 5 crayfish. Plus, today I bought two medium sized Koi. Kk named them Orange, and Sherbert. I wonder how long it will be before the birds get 'em. I wanted to put a net over the top of the pond, but if I do that, the bullfrogs won't be able to get out. I guess we will see what happens.

Thank you for listening to me when I talk about the yard. I know it must be boring for you, and I know you listen just because you love me. Thank you for not complaining when I spend all your money on flowers, and things for the yard. Thank you for being excited and proud, when I am excited that I achieved something new. Sometimes I think you are more excited than I am. Thank you for pushing me, when I doubt myself.

Fed the Roses

I figure I better write this down, or I'll never remember it. Today I cleaned out the remaining flower beds in the back yard. Cleaned out under the Roses, and fed them all, Bayer Advanced food for Roses with insect control. I also sprayed them all with stuff for black spot, which several already have. So hopefully they will be happier now.

I have had 4 Daylilies bloom. Unfortunately, none of them were picture worth. The nights are still to cold, and the flowers didn't open properly. And one of them, got totally ruined by the rain last night.

I will have to update the pictures here, as lots more has started blooming. More Iris, the Wisteria, lots of Roses, Passion Flower vine, more Clematis... Hmm, I can't remember what else.

And for those family members who read this... Jinny, I think that might only be you! LOL John is coming down to visit me May 20th, till June 17th. I'm going to have him help me build a shed, and a deck. Lord knows what else, but I'm sure I'll think of lots of things! But those are two big projects. I can't wait!!

Alrighty, I'm off to bed to rest these muscles.

Crap... Frost is in the forecast

Well this just sucks! We have a chance of frost tonight, and an even bigger chance tomorrow night. I am going to be praying so hard! Last year, if you recall, we had a late season hard freeze, and it set everything back by weeks, and months for some things. We didn't get any peaches on the tree either, last year. This year, the tree is full of blooms, so it would really suck to lose them too. I am tempted to stay up all night and keep the fire pit going in the back yard. LOL It is a few yards away from the peach tree, and would at least protect it. What to do, what to do...

Well, I spent the last four days in the yard. My back is now killing me, but at least I am about 75% done with planting. As you can see below, the color is starting to show up in the yard! But the thing that I am most excited about is...

One of the Daylily babies that I grew from seed last year, now has a scape on it! I can't wait to see what it looks like. Providing, of course, it makes it through this frost!! :( Man this really sucks.

What's Blooming...

Pink Honeysuckle

Here are the pots loaded... Put your rebar in the ground, then put the pots on at an angle. Where you see the pots touching, thats where I mean to put your chaulk. It just helps to hold them together better. Once that is dry, you can load them up with dirt and plant. Hope that helps, Carmen:)

Peach Tree - Check out all those blooms! Hopefully the tree will be loaded with Peaches this year, since we didn't get any last year due to the frost.

Looking at these those, I realize, that almost everything blooming now is Pink! LOL That is really weird, eh? :)

The Other Daylilies

Today, I got a nice big box in the mail. Yeah! It was that Daylily order, that I didn't write down. So now I'm writing down what I got, since I do not want to update my spreadsheet any time soon.

When I sat down to make the markers this afternoon, I had to look up each one again to get the height information for the stake. I write that on there, so that I can plant them in the right place. More than once I thought... "What the hell was I thinking?!" LOL There are some Orange ones in the mix. In case you didn't know this about me... I HATE ORANGE! But I remember now, that in January, when I placed this order, I was trying to make myself like orange. My friend L had teased about not liking orange, so I was trying to get over it. I thought if anything can help me get over my orange aversion, it would be a flower. So I guess now, I will see if I can like it. Anyway...

Then today, my friend C and I went to get some more flowers for the new bed I'm installing. I needed a lot of short stuff for the front. One of the crappy stores in town has six pack bedding plants for $1.50 each. So I think I now have more than enough to fill up the bed. So that is the plan for tomorrow.

Also tomorrow, the baby, is having surgery. "The" surgery. You know, the one that makes all men cringe? Yeah, that surgery. :) He is also having his stubborn baby teeth removed, since they are interfering with his adult teeth coming in. Poor guy is going to be miserable. :(

What a day...

Today was a pretty good day for working outside. Warm, yet cloudy. I really did not feel like doing what I did. But the doctor gave me some drugs, so I was able to do most of what I needed to get done today.

N1 and I mowed the lawn, edged, whacked, and blowed it all clean. Then I fertilized the grass. I hate doing that. I'm always worried I'm gonna end up with lines all over the yard.

Then the girls and I ripped the grass out of the new bed. N1 came and helped them carry the grass to the back yard, so we could fill in bare spots.

Kk and I planted 90 glad bulbs. That is about the only planting that got done today.

I put fertilizer down for the Roses and Daylilies. Then all my homeys kept coming over and talking to me, so I gave up on doing anymore. But at least the front yard is almost done, so I can start on the back this coming week.

If it stops raining tomorrow, I'll try and go out and take some pictures. Lots of neat stuff happening out there. :)
