Bad news ~ Good news

First, the bad news. My first "real" digital camera, the Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 has died. It started dying a few weeks ago. I could no longer take a picture with it zoomed. That gradually got worse, to wear I could not take a picture at all. The pictures are either pure white, or majorly blurry. :(

I was using my Rebel, but ... I don't like it for flower pictures. Infact, I hate it. The camera just does not get the colors in my flowers right. Pinks would be washed out. Reds would be purple. Yellows would be glowing. White, forget it. I love the Rebel for other stuff, but not for my flowers.

So, I looked into getting the Sony fixed. Since it is out of warranty it would cost $211. to fix. I do not think so!!! So Cecil bought me a new one. :) It is the Sony Cybershot DSC-H9. So far I love it! The pictures below were all taken with it this mid morning. Some are repeats, but you can see what I am talking about with the colors. And these are only the pictures I thought were okay to post on here. If you want even worse examples, I can post those too. :)

So I finally felt better yesterday, and spent all day in the yard getting things done. Still no where near caught up, but at least it is looking a lot better. I also got rid of a lot of my pot ghetto. Still have a few more things to plant, but at least the drive way is almost empty. :)

SC Cranberry Kid

This little flower fooled me. I grew these from seeds, and you can see how the back bud looks like it is done flowering. So I thought I missed it somehow. But, the front bud shows it in bloom. I believe it is scabiosa, but I'm not sure.

Another flower I grew from seed. Some sort of Daisy I think. I did many multi seed packs, so I have lots of surprises every day.

Well today, we finally got some much needed rain. And boy did it rain! I was so tempted to go do a jig in the rain I was so happy. We still need more to get back to normal, but at least I will not have to water for a day or two. My flowers should take off growing now, as there is nothing like rain water!

Well, it is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot outside, so I will not be doing the chores I had planned to do. I hate this part of the year. It really is disgusting out there. All my plants look wimpy from lack of a good rain in weeks. But hopefully tomorrow we will get some rain. I almost hate to say it, but I wish a good cat 1 hurricane would come through here and give us some much needed rain. This is starting to get ridiculous, and my water bill can prove it.

My Baby treated me to a wonderful surprise yesterday. Not a surprise, surprise, as I didn't know about it. But with a surprise yes answer. I found a "to good to pass up" daylily sale. As in more than 50% percent off of most of them. So... I will have 15 new daylilies, plus at least one bonus daylily, arriving in September. :) They will be part of the front/side yard garden that I will be adding this fall. So I do not have to worry about room. There is plenty of room! Woohoo!
I can't wait to get started on it later in the year.

The girls and I went yard saling this morning. I finally found a bowling bowl to mosaic. I had been searching for months, so I am happy. Also found a bench for $10. I will have to take a picture of it. It's actually quite nice. Has a sun shade cover thingy and everything. Got a few other little trinkets for out in the yard too. So we had a good haul.

Anyway, I think I am off to walmart. :)

It's growing at the back of my daylily bed, and I did not put it there. I'm curious as to what it is!
