Marian's Garden Blog

This blog is for my garden. So I can keep track of things I need to remember and won't. And so I can compare this years doings, with next years doings.

Spring clean up done

Well, today me, and my favorite little gardening helper cleaned out the flower beds. My baby spent the afternoon watching Tv, so I took the opportunity to clean out the dead stuff, and pull the weeds. My arms are scratched to kingdom come and back from weeding around the rose bushes. My back hurts, as usual. But I am so glad that is done.

I have to take my honey to the doctor tomorrow morning. I'm hoping that won't take long. If it doesn't, when I get back my little helper and I will try and get the bulbs in the ground. Even if it freezes again, I don't think it'll hurt them. So I figured why not.

Depending on the time, I may put some of the cool weather plants out from my winter sowing too. Lavender, poppies, and what not.

It is so funny to me how cute my little helper is tho. "Mom, do you want me to pull this dude out?" No denying that she is my child. :)

Not much

Since some people seem to be impatient... :) Here is a brief quick update.

Plants are growing. In the next few weeks, I will be putting them in the ground, along with the bulbs.

In other news, I will be giving my first ever lecture. The gardening committee chairman asked me to give a "how to winter sow" clinic. I will be doing that in the middle of march, when we will be starting annuals for the front entrance. I am excited.

Other than that, gardening is on the back burner while I take care of my Honey. The big poop does is not listening to his Doc, or to me, and is trying to do everything himself. Not good. So I have to keep an eye on him. Lots of fun. Hopefully soon he'll learn.
